- 1 packet Bacon Cheeseburger Dip Mix
- 8 cups prepared instant mashed potatoes (or 8 cups real mashed potatoes)
- 2 Tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup sour cream (8 oz.)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, reserve 1/2 cup of cheese for garnish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom of 9x9-inch glass casserole dish. Make enough instant mashed potatoes for 8 cups serving according to the directions on the box. You may also use 8 cups REAL mashed potatoes. Add remaining ingredients (remember to set aside 1/2 cup of shredded cheese) and mix well. Spread potato mixture into greased casserole dish. Sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese over top and bake until browned and bubbly, approximately 20 minutes. Allow to set 5 minutes before serving.
Prepare Bacon Cheeseburger Dip Mix according to the packet's directions. Allow it to chill a minimum of 4 hours.
Brown 1 pound meat (beef, turkey, or venison), drain meat and season as desired. Allow browned meat to cool. Fold into prepared dip on a platter or plate, leaving room around the rim. Sprinkle shredded cheese over top of other layers.
Shred lettuce and sprinkle over entire platter. You can garnish entire platter with chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, sliced olives and/or bacon bits. Use plain tortillas chips as dippers.
