Add all ingredients, except cheese packet, into 5-1/2 cups of cold water. Add an extra 1/2 cup of water if you like your soup a little thinner. Mix and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. In another bowl whisk cheese powder with 2-1/2 cups of milk. Whisk into soup and heat through, but don’t boil. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to hot soup, stirring until butter is combined and melted. This soup pairs well with Motown Soup’s Cheddar-Garlic Beer Bread Mix. Enjoy! Serving suggestion – Add fresh cut cauliflower during 20-minute simmer time, top with fresh cheddar cheese, and/or spice up with a hot sauce of your choice.
